MEDIA RELEASE 01 May 2008
Efalex Chewies - premium fish oil for kids without any artificial
New Efalex Chewies, which contain both omega-3 and omega-6 in a natural
orange-flavoured capsule, are perfect for children who need these essential
fatty acids but who don't like the taste of fish. They are packed full of
clinically researched ingredients and contain no sugar, artificial colours,
flavours or preservatives.
Efalex Chewies are the latest product from UK-based Efamol which specialises in
essential fatty acid (EFA) based products, the so-called 'good fats' that are
essential for the healthy functioning of almost all cells throughout the human
body. The product is distributed in Australia by Planet Health.
The fruity capsules contain fish oil rich in DHA - essential for the growth and
functional development of the brain in infants - which may help sustain a
child's concentration in class and support brain and eye function.
Efalex Chewies also contain pure Evening Primrose Oil, which provides the
important omega-6 fatty acid GLA.
"School-based research shows that Omega-3 and Omega-6 long chain polyunsaturated
fatty acids can help to maintain a child's concentration and brain function,"
said Melinda Hunt, Planet Health's Product Development Manager.
"Efalex Chewies are a 'clever' supplement for youngsters starting the school
year as they contain no artificial ingredients. And the great orange taste means
they're more likely to look forward to taking the capsules each day" she added.
Efalex Chewies are available at pharmacies and health food stores Australia-wide
for a recommend retail price of $19.95 for 30 capsules or $35.95 for 60
