Ssangyong signs deal with Sydney Weekender
Korean car company, Ssangyong has signed a deal with channel Seven's Sydney
Weekender program to provide two Ssangyong vehicles.
Sydney Weekender is a weekly program that highlights travel and leisure
activities in Sydney and around New South Wales. The series is hosted by Mike
Whitney and airs every Saturday at 5.30 pm across NSW. The prime mode of
transport for Sydney Weekender, more than any other travel show, is by car which
is why the relationship with Ssangyong is so valuable.
Ssangyong supplies Sydney Weekender with two vehicles; one for presenter, Mike
Whitney and the other to serve as a unit vehicle for crew and behind the scenes
The vehicles being used are the Rexton SUV and the Actyon Sports. The Rexton SUV
is a luxury all wheel drive, 4x4 that can seat up to seven people and has
impressive torque and towing capacity. The Actyon is a compact 4x4 SUV that runs
on clean power as a result of its direct-injection engine. The turbo diesel
engines and affordable price of both the Actyon and Rexton were key criteria for
the Sydney Weekender/ Ssangyong agreement.
Ssangyong national sales and marketing manager, Steve Thomas says 'This is a
great opportunity for Ssangyong within the Australian market. We are proud of
the quality of our vehicles and our range is suitably versatile to fit with the
shows focus on quality and value for money. The standard inclusions in our
diesel vehicles are what set us apart from competitors and I think viewers will
be impressed by the power and style of the cars we have provided.'
Ssangyong vehicles are diesel powered providing outstanding economy, performance
and reliability. They are designed and manufactured in Korea to a high standard
of comfort and safety.
The Ssangyong range includes three SUVs - the medium sized Kyron 4x4 and Rexton
AWD, the compact Actyon 4x4; the Stavic, a 7-seater MPV; and the Actyon Dual cab
utility available in a 4x2 or 4x4.
