Teachers embrace the online revolution
Schools across WA have embraced online technology with the majority ordering their art and craft supplies online using Corporate Express’ NetXpress site.
As a preferred supplier to the WA Department of Education, Corporate Express carries a comprehensive range of products ranging from glitter paint to lino cutting tools and even over-sized exercise books.

Where teachers once poured over out-of-date printed catalogues, the internet has revolutionised the process. School Officer Lyn Raj of Challis ECEC, Armadale says, “It’s absolutely wonderful being able to place orders online. If I have any queries I ring through and the operators deal with my query with pleasant efficiency. Goods are delivered promptly. If there is a discrepancy it is dealt with immediately”.

Corporate Express won the contract in 2003 and put together a comprehensive range of stationery items, art and craft, science, janitorial, sport and maintenance supplies.

“We supply everything from soccer balls to batik tjanting tools used for making batik fabric,” said Corporate Express’ manager for Education & Government in WA, Laurence Douglas.

“We have also worked with the Education Department to develop exclusive education products like the oversized exercise books that are slightly larger than A4 so that A4-sized handouts can be pasted into them without overlap,” he added.

Most schools order online and receive next day delivery on the majority of items because Corporate Express has an extensive distribution centre in Perth along with regional offices in Bunbury, Geraldton, Karratha and Kalgoorlie.

Corporate Express has recently added the education range to its national offering based on the success of the WA contract.

Corporate Express is now in its 11th year in Australia and has 49 branches around Australia and New Zealand. For more information about Corporate Express please call 13 26 44 or visit the website at www.ce.com.au
