Olympian teaches local school girls how to keep fit
On Wednesday, 1 March, 2006, fifteen girls from years eight to ten at Roseville College were joined by Australian Olympian and Morrisons’ Ambassador Jane Flemming for a light exercise session, breakfast and a talk on the importance of developing healthy habits.

Jane led the girls down to the park before heading to Morrison Motors’ Chatswood dealership for a delicious breakfast of muffins, fruit and yoghurt.

”I think that health and fitness are one of the things that we actually have some control over,” said Ms Flemming.

“Given the ever increasing stress levels of young girls it also acts as a fabulous means of stress relief and the building of self esteem.

“Sadly the social environment and perceived community dangers have drastically reduced the amount of exercise that children undertake, which is a major contributor to obesity,” Ms Flemming said.

Morrisons has strong ties to the community and regularly supports local schools through fundraising, events and fitness education. This is the second year in a row that they have hosted the Fitness Breakfast with Jane Flemming.
