Local resident brings waterless car washing to Penrith
Glenmore Park resident Sean Tyler is rescuing Penrith car-lovers from Stage 3 water restrictions by helping them to keep their cars clean without using water.

Sean owns and manages the Penrith franchise of Ecowash Mobile - a completely waterless mobile car washing and detailing service which uses an innovative technique to provide a 2-in-1 wash and polish that lasts for four to six weeks.

As well as not using water, an Ecowash uses products that are biodegradable, making it completely eco-friendly.

Sean established the Ecowash Mobile franchise after selling truck parts for 20 years.

“I decided to become an Ecowash Mobile franchisee because I love cars and really enjoy seeing the end result of a good clean,” Sean said.

“I was also drawn to the environmentally-friendly aspect of the service and the fact that Ecowash Mobile uses really good products, which I believe are superior to water,” he said.

Since establishing his franchise two months ago, Sean has washed over 40 cars, which is a total of more than 8,800 litres of water saved locally.*

“The response has been great. People are surprised with the results and love the fact that the service is mobile because they don’t have to travel to have their cars washed,” he said.

One of Sean’s regular customers, Brent Gilmour from Glenmore Park, has his car Ecowashed every few weeks.

“With the current water situation, a waterless car washing service is very useful,” Brent said.

“The other great thing about Ecowash Mobile is the fact that I can have my car cleaned pretty much anywhere, not only at home. It’s really good if you’re a busy person like me,” he said.

Ecowash Mobile Penrith services Penrith and the lower Blue Mountains.

The Ecowash Mobile approach uses an exclusive product range that includes a polymer compound. The compound is sprayed onto the car exterior and encapsulates surface dirt and provides a lubricant, better than water, to remove dirt with a soft cloth. The polish leaves a protective coating to guard against the elements and harmful effects of wear and tear. The complete wash and polish is guaranteed not to scratch.

The complete range of products enables a full detail inside and out including leather treatment, bumper renovation and scratch removal. To ensure long lasting protection of your car, Ecowash Mobile has also just introduced new protection options for paint, fabric and carpet or leather.

A variety of services are on offer, from a basic waterless wash and polish right through to a full detail called an Extreme Ecowash, to suit individual car owners, through to car dealers, smash repairers and corporate fleets.

*Calculated on the average figure of 220 litres of water used when washing one car using a hose.
