Howick mouth painting artist's work to be displayed at EKKA in Brisbane
Howick mouth painting artist, Raymond Hickey, will display his unique artwork at this year's Rural Queensland Show (EKKA) in Brisbane, Australia which runs from 11 to 20 August 2011.

This year Raymond has had two paintings, 'Blue Vase Display' and 'Maunga Maungaroa Howick', which will be on display at the show. These pieces showcase the unique talent that is involved in mouth painting.

"Anyone can be creative. It shows that whether someone paints with their hand, mouth or foot is neither here nor there. What's important is the way you do it. The approach a painter takes to a subject, their understanding of colour and form and the way they capture the light," said Raymond.

Raymond began painting with a brush held in his mouth after a car accident at Tekuiti in 1962 left him quadriplegic. He has been a student member of the MFPA since 2002.
