Pukekohe mouth painting artist's work to be displayed at EKKA in Brisbane
Pukekohe mouth painting artist, Grant Sharman, will display his unique artwork at this year's Rural Queensland Show (EKKA) in Brisbane, Australia which runs from 11 to 20 August 2011.

This year Grant will have his picturesque painting 'Northland Beach' displayed at the EKKA Art competition.

'Northland Beach' is a rendition of the picturesque Northland Bay, with pristine beaches and surrounded by lush trees.

Grant's inspiration for 'Northland Beach' came from the magnificent coast and outdoor lifestyle that New Zealand offers.

"The beauty of the New Zealand landscape is something that I find extremely inspiring, and I think this is something that Australians can relate to," said Grant.

"A lot of us don't realise how lucky we are to be surrounded by such picturesque environments. 'Northland Beach' reflects how fortunate we are to have access to these stunning beaches and forests," Grant adds.

Being selected for the EKKA has been an honour for Grant, and he hopes that his work will serve as a reminder of the true beauty of nature.

"I am thrilled to be in the show, and to me having my work displayed to the public is a huge honour. I hope that people are inspired by this beautiful landscape as much as I have been," said Grant.

Grant began painting after an injury in a school rugby match left him a tetraplegic in 1977, becoming a full member of the MFPA in 1988.
