Hamilton mouth painting artist's work to be displayed at EKKA in Brisbane
Hamilton mouth painting artist, Peter Van de Hulst, will display his unique artwork at this year's Rural Queensland Show (EKKA) in Brisbane, Australia which runs from 11 to 20 August 2011.

This year Peter is entering his inspiring painting, 'Early Evening-Waikato River' into the EKKA Art competition.

At the time Peter was painting this piece he was working on a number of paintings which were inspired by the wondrous New Zealand landscape. When choosing his favourite he wanted to display something that was a little "closer to home".

"This painting depicts a scene along the Waikato River, an area I was familiar with prior to my accident in 1975, and in the years following, when my family and I went boating and water skiing. It is a landscape I hold close to my heart", said Peter.

Being selected for the EKKA has been an honour for Peter, and he hopes the true beauty of this landscape will be appreciated by audiences.

"I always feel that it is an honour to have my work chosen and hung in an exhibition, and it is great to represent MFPA and New Zealand at the EKKA. It is an amazing opportunity to be able to share this stunning scene with other people," said Peter.
