MEDIA RELEASE 6 June 2006

McLaren Mercedes F1 car coming to Chatswood
Car fanatics, petrol heads, car racing fans, kids and families, and curious residents will have the opportunity to see and have their photo taken with the McLaren Mercedes Formula One car at Morrisons Mercedes-Benz dealership in Chatswood, from 26 June to 3 July.

The F1 car, which was driven by the McLaren Mercedes team at the 2006 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in March this year, will be on display at 748 Pacific Highway, from 7.30am-6pm Mon-Fri and 10am-5pm on weekends.

James Schramko, General Manager of Morrisons Mercedes-Benz dealership, is very enthusiastic about having the F1 car coming to Chatswood.

“We are so excited. It is not every day that the North Shore population has the chance to see a Formula One car up close. My kids are looking forward to taking a close look,” James said.

The season's opening race of the 2006 F1 Foster’s Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne saw the McLaren drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya finish in third and fifth place respectively, whilst Team McLaren Mercedes came first in the Constructor’s Championship.

Morrisons is also holding in its showroom the History of the North Shore exhibition until 30th July. The exhibition takes you back in time with an exceptional historical display of photographs of the North Shore life during the 19th and 20th centuries and a historic Mercedes-Benz vehicle. The exhibition is open to the community free of charge.
