Waterless wash for northern Sydney’s car-lovers
Australians love their cars, but currently Sydney car owners face a hefty fine
for all breaches of water restrictions, which severely limit the method and
number of times that cars can be washed.
Enter Ecowash Mobile in northern Sydney - a completely waterless mobile car
washing and detailing service that uses an innovative technique to provide a
2-in-1 wash and polish. As well as not using water, the cleaning products used
are biodegradable, making it completely eco-friendly.
The traditional hose method of washing a car uses 220 litres of water per wash
and currently 30 Ecowash Mobile franchisees are washing over 10 cars per day
which equates to a saving of about 330,000 litres of water a week. The company
has already saved over 17 million litres of water since it started in 2004 as
listed on their website.
The northern Sydney area is fully serviced by four Ecowash Mobile franchisees
who drive around North Sydney, Crows Nest, Northern Beaches, and Chatswood in
bright orange cars.
Jason Kovan-Boss owns and operates the North Sydney franchise.
“One of the main advantages of Ecowash is that our service is mobile which means
your car can be Ecowashed at home or at the office,” Kovan-Boss said.
Ben Oliver and Fred Judson own and operate the Crows Nest franchise.
“Another great benefit of Ecowash is the protection package we offer. If you get
an Ecowash regularly, your car will be in much better condition. Most of my
customers can’t recognise their cars after an Ecowash because the results are
just astonishing,” Oliver said.
James Stedman is from the Northern Beaches franchise.
“Residents also love the fact that Ecowash is waterless, especially when we are
so conscious of water conservation needs,” Stedman said.
Mr Roberts from the Chatswood franchise cleans about 10 Mercedes-Benz cars every
week for Morrison Motors Mercedes-Benz dealership in Chatswood.
James Schramko, General Manager of Morrison Motors, thinks Ecowash Mobile is a
great eco-friendly way to keep Morrisons’ cars clean and polished.
“We’re aware of the water restrictions and would like to act responsibly, but
we’re now taking the next step and encouraging others to do the same,” said
The Ecowash approach uses an exclusive product range that includes a polymer
compound. The compound is sprayed onto the car exterior and encapsulates surface
dirt and provides a lubricant, better than water, to remove dirt with a soft
cloth. The polish leaves a protective coating to guard against the elements and
harmful effects of wear and tear. The complete wash and polish is guaranteed not
The complete range of products enables a full detail inside and out including
leather treatment, bumper renovation and scratch removal. To ensure long lasting
protection of your car, Ecowash Mobile has also just introduced new protection
options for paint, fabric and carpet or leather.
A variety of services are on offer, from a basic waterless wash and polish right
through to a full detail called an Extreme Ecowash, to suit individual car
owners, through to car dealers, smash repairers and corporate fleets.
