Young entrepreneurs to get a helping hand
Young business owners looking to learn new skills and develop growth plans and strategies for their businesses should register now for the Young Entrepreneur Stepping Up Program.

The Stepping Up Program is an initiative of the NSW Department of State and Regional Development and being run locally by the North Sydney Chamber of Commerce. It begins on 21 July and consists of a series of interactive business skills workshops and seminars as well as one-on-one mentoring, with participants being matched with experienced business people who use their expertise to help the young business owners work towards achieving their business goals and overcome any hurdles they may face.

Stepping Up Program participant Adrian Law has been running Zeno IT in St Leonards with his business partner Gerald Chow for five years. He decided to join the program so that he can contribute new skills and knowledge to the business.

“I decided to join the program because I feel like I have exhausted most of my existing skills and knowledge, and want to learn new things.

“I am happy that I will be paired up with a mentor that can guide me through the Program.

“There is nothing better than having someone who has been through it all before teaching us their skills and showing us the way,” Adrian said.

There are still positions available for young entrepreneurs wanting to join Program and for experienced business people who would like to share their skills and knowledge as mentors.

To register for the Young Entrepreneur Stepping Up Program contact the North Sydney Chamber of Commerce on 9958 5595 or visit www.northsydneychamber.com.au
