MEDIA RELEASE 7 December 2006
Local business women driven to success by waterless concept
With water conservation being a serious issue, two locals have seized an
outstanding business opportunity with a revolutionary waterless car washing
Sue Taylor and Elia Napiza own and manage the Ecowash Mobile franchise
territories for Sydney Central, which covers areas around St George and Homebush
Bay. Ecowash Mobile is a completely waterless mobile car washing and detailing
service which began in Australia in 2004 and recently expanded to the Middle
East and Europe.
Sue and Elia started their Ecowash Mobile business in January this year and have
been overwhelmed by the response.
“We are so busy that it is difficult to keep up with it. We’re even looking for
two casual employees to help us with the demand,” Elia said.
“There’s a lot of possibility for further growth within Ecowash Mobile and in
fact, our business was going so well in St George that we recently decided to
acquire a second territory that covers the Homebush Bay area,” she said.
Elia, who is also an IT Manager of a local business, attributes their success to
the service they offer.
“I think the main benefit of Ecowash Mobile is how time efficient it is for
customers – they can do other things whilst their car is being cleaned.
“Also, as summer is here and water is an even hotter topic, the public’s concern
in regards to water is growing and people are thinking about doing their bit for
the environment. With Ecowash Mobile, we can offer them a waterless alternative
to keeping their car clean,” she said.
Sue established the Ecowash Mobile franchise because she felt she needed a
career change after working in finance for twenty years.
“Owning my own business is a complete lifestyle change. I was office-bound for
20 years and now not only do I work outside but I have more freedom in regards
to when and how hard I decide to work. I don’t even need to go to the gym
because I’m so busy and active in my job,” she said.
“At the moment, we wash about six to seven cars a day so it’s working really
well. The secret of our success is simply perseverance. We all have bad days,
but we get up the next day and we try again,” Sue said.
Sue believes that they have found a great business opportunity for women.
“With Ecowash Mobile, women can work around and manage both their family life
and business,” Sue said.
“Of course, as with any other business, we also face new challenges everyday as
we learn new things and change the way we operate. One of the biggest challenges
we come across is to convince people that we can clean their car without water.
We offer demonstrations to show that an Ecowash can be done and that it gives
amazing results,” she said.
Ecowash Mobile Sydney Central covers the area from Hurstville north to
Roselands, east to Sydenham and south to Kogarah as well as Silverwater and
Homebush Bay through to Camellia and from Rhodes to Ermington.
The approach uses an exclusive Ecowash Mobile product range that includes a
2-in-1 wash and polish biodegradable compound. The compound is sprayed onto the
car exterior, encapsulates surface dirt that is then removed with a soft cloth
and provides a lubricant. The polish does not only leave a protective coating
that lasts four to six weeks, but the whole process is guaranteed not to
The complete range of products enables a full detail inside and out including
leather treatment, bumper renovation and scratch removal. To ensure long lasting
protection of your car, Ecowash Mobile has also just introduced new protection
options for paint, fabric and carpet or leather.
A variety of services are on offer, from a basic waterless wash and polish right
through to a full detail called an Extreme Ecowash, to suit individual car
owners, through to car dealers, smash repairers and corporate fleets.
