Korando, A safe choice SUV
The new Ssangyong Korando is tuned towards ensuring the vehicle's safety. That means that the Korando utilises its electronic driver aids and other safety features to keep you out of trouble and is well equipped to provide high-level occupant safety in the case of an accident.

Korando's Electronic Stability Program (ESP) basically, acts to help ensure the vehicle's direction follows the driver's intention. Electronic driver aids maximise vehicle stability and control, and along with strong handling and road holding characteristics make the Korando a very capable and sure-footed machine.

Active Safety features

Active Rollover Protection (ARP):
ARP minimises the natural physical tendency of a vehicle to rollover under certain conditions. The ARP controls individual brakes and engine output which increases driver control.

Hill Start Assist (HSA):
HSA is an often overlooked safety feature that acts to prevent the vehicle from rolling back when taking off on steep hills, increasing driver confidence and control as well as reducing clutch wear.

All Wheel Drive System:
In normal driving conditions the Korando drives predominantly via the front wheels. However when grip levels change, the AWD system automatically distributes drive to both the front and rear wheels delivering a higher degree of traction on slippery wet, icy, muddy or sandy roads.

Intelligent Braking:
Korando's braking system is made up of ABS (Anti-Brake Locking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) BAS (Brake Assist System) and traction control. Basically, the intelligent braking system ensures that the driver has maximum control over the vehicle and it sticks to the road even in the most variable situations.

Passive safety features

Airbags:
Korando is equipped with six airbags, including dual front airbags, side airbags and side curtain airbags.

Electronic Active Head Restraints:
These automatically move the front part of the head restraint forward and upward in the event of rear-end collision, dramatically reducing the risk of whiplash injuries.

Rear seat safety:
The rear seat features three lap sash seatbelts with three adjustable head rests and curtain airbags and door anti-intrusion beams for increased safety for rear seat occupants.

Reverse Parking Aid System:
This system reduces the risk of accidents involving children and other vehicles in reversing situations. Korando is also fitted with the latest ISOFIX child seat anchor points as standard equipment.

Safety Lights:
There is a conveniently located downlight situated above the passenger doors. It serves to light the entire side area of the car at night time, making vehicle entry and key finding much easier and safer.

Three ISOFIX child seat anchors:
Korando is fitted with not two but three of the latest ISOFIX child seat anchor points as standard equipment.
