Waterless car wash – the answer for local car owners
As Victoria faces level 4 water restrictions, Essendon car owners will still be
able to wash their cars thanks to a local entrepreneur who introduced an
innovative idea into the Essendon community.
Adrian Morris has been managing the Essendon franchise for Ecowash Mobile - a
waterless mobile car washing and detailing service – since April 2006. The
company uses a completely waterless product range which includes a biodegradable
2-in1 wash and polish.
"The water restrictions have really helped raise the awareness of water saving
initiatives fuelling local residents to embrace waterless car washing as an
alternative to the traditional car wash," Adrian said.
"Besides the environmental benefits, people also like the quality of the service
and the convenience of someone coming to them. Most people get their cars
cleaned at work.
"Currently we are washing between 30 and 40 cars per week equating to a saving
of around 6,300 litres per week*, with clients ranging from Fairfax newspapers
to the AQIS as well as a few car dealerships," he said.
