Get your warehouse up and running with the help of a new software package
An industry-first software package has been designed by materials handling
company Lencrow Group to provide advice on the full range of logistical and
material handling requirements for warehouse and transport operations.
The pilot version, called a ‘Materials Handling Guide’ is being launched in May,
with full distribution to follow immediately afterwards.
Lencrow has partnered with a number of other suppliers to build the content of
the package, which provides information and tips on over 100 different types of
products and service solutions.
Ross Grassick, General Manager of Lencrow Group, said the package was designed
as an educational solution for warehouse mangers and management.
“As an industry we often find that people don’t have the information they need
to quickly make decisions about what equipment and services they need, how they
should manage and maintain theses instalments over time, how they should finance
the assets and how to implement them safely in a warehouse or transport
environment.
“The software package is structured to guide the users in each of these areas,
as well as other aspects of warehousing and transport,” said Grassick.
Users can simply navigate through the program to obtain information on
everything from conveyor and racking systems, to forklifts and trucking devices,
to finance and security solutions.
The program currently runs off a CD, but in the future will to link through to
the Lencrow website via the Internet so that it can updated on the users desktop
over time.
“We also think this is a very good business proposition for us and for the host
of other suppliers and manufacturers we have brought on board to build this
package,” said Grassick.
“We see this as an educational tool and therefore there is no branding or
advertising of specific products, but it will naturally assist the distribution
of those suppliers involved in the program as any resulting inquiries will be
channelled through to a dedicated number and referred to the appropriate
supplier, Grassick said.
Lencrow Group is one of Australia’s largest materials handling companies
