Sydney's North 2030 - workshop to be held 16 June
The business and community group, which has been established to help plan economic and sustainable development for Sydney’s North up to the year 2030, will hold a half-day interactive workshop on 16 June from 1 to 5.30pm at Macquarie University.

The group was established in early March at a two day symposium held at Macquarie University to consider a number of key questions concerned with future growth and sustainability of the region for the next twenty four years.

At that meeting seven Special Action Groups (SAGs) were formed to concentrate on key areas which include: business development, business and education, regional authority, investment, lifestyle, transport and the environment.

The 16 June workshop will commence with a presentation from Roy Green, the recently appointed Dean at Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Mr Green has recently returned from Ireland where he led a major innovation drive in conjunction with the local industry and the Irish Government. He will speak on “Building Innovation Capability: The Irish Experience.”

The interactive workshop will also provide an opportunity for residents to have a say in setting the direction for the overall initiative and get involved in the work of the Special Action Groups, as well as help develop the next steps in the planning process.
