MEDIA RELEASE 15 October 2006
EESTech Inc. is the new name for Aqua Dyne
EESTech Inc is the new name for water reuse specialists Aqua Dyne, which
will also expand their focus to embrace new electricity generation technology.
EESTech is the acronym of "Economically and Environmentally Sustainable
Technology".
This strategic change follows the acquisition of the North American rights to
the Hybrid Coal and Gas Turbine (HCGT), a clean coal technology.
EESTech is now commercializing two technologies: the JetWater system (JWS), an
efficient water purification process and HCGT, which uses coal waste, ventilated
air methane (VAM) or biomass to produce electricity.
A standard HCGT 10mw power plant could also earn significant greenhouse gas
abatement credits per year and potentially save the coal mining industry
millions of dollars a year in reduced expenditure for managing waste coal.
JWS and HCGT are two very complementary technologies. The extraction of steam
from the HCGT assists in the desalination of water by the JetWater System, which
makes good technical and economic sense. Generating electricity and cleaning
fresh water streams will identify the combination at Benchmark technologies,
establishing an industry best practice.
The environmental outcomes from such operations are expected to be highly
beneficial for the general community and gain acceptance by government agencies.
The global perspective of “green” technologies gained a high profile when United
Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan recently announced six new U.N. rules of
sound investing at the New York Stock Exchange that focused on the inclusion of
environmental and social costs in factoring investment decisions. Endorsement of
the UN rules immediately came from sixteen managers of public pension funds from
around the world.
The US and Australian Federal Governments have signed a “Climate Action
Partnership” agreement. Under this agreement, the HCGT technology has been
identified as one of seven technologies on which the partnership will
collaborate to ensure the rapid uptake of this technology into the market place.
