Local Port Macquarie residents rewarded with $28,500 of free fuel
The beepp Discount Fuel Program is rescuing Port Macquarie residents from rising petrol prices by rewarding them with free petrol when they do their local shopping.

Over 28,500 beepp cards have been distributed to small local retailers to hand out to customers since the program began in the wider Port Macquarie and Kempsey region late last year, translating to $28,500 of free fuel on offer.

The program aims to help local retailers and independent fuel outlets fight back against the Coles and Woolworths ‘docket discounts’. beepp is different from the Coles and Woolworths docket discounts, chiefly because it operates on a cumulative basis.

Under the program, customers are given a beepp card valued at one dollar after spending a qualifying amount in one transaction at any of the 33 participating retailers in the Port Macquarie and Kempsey region. Customers can redeem their collected beepp cards at 13 local participating fuel outlets to receive a discount on their fuel to the value of the cards presented.

Tony Williams, owner of Port Pharmacy in Port Macquarie, has been a part of beepp since it first started in the area.

“My customers have been extremely happy that they’re saving money on fuel. Since we joined the program, we’ve handed out over 1000 beepp cards to local residents, which means $1000 worth of free fuel,” Mr. Williams said.
