Food gem on the ‘other’ side of the Bridge
From the succulent sour dough bread to the virgin olive oil, everything at Chatswood’s Rocket Restaurant is carefully considered. Modern Australian flavours find their way into everything on the menu and the attractive line up boasts local produce handled with an international standard of professionalism.

Entrees include Hervey Bay scallops in half shell with rocket pesto and warm tomato vinaigrette, Twice cooked veal shank in prosciutto with potato gratin and its braising jus and Tempura battered zucchini flowers with Kytren goat’s cheese curd, beetroot and orange salsa.

The mouth watering mains range from Grilled king prawns with potato gnocchi, baby spinach, burnt butter and 'Forum' cabernet vinegar to Thai spiced boned baby barramundi with gai larn preserved lemon and pine nuts to Poached beef tenderloin with wild mushrooms, wilted spinach and truffled mayo.

Dessert cannot be missed with offerings such as Roasted wattle seed creme brulee with almond bread or Seasonal fruit sorbets and ice cream in almond tuille basket or Vacherin of vanilla bean ice cream and raspberry sorbet.

The extensive wine list is hand picked to complement the menu.

Rocket, regarded by many as one of the best restaurants on the North Shore, is headed by master chef Josef Schacher, who operates the restaurant with his brother in law Peter Fletcher. Josef brought his talent to Australia as a chef at the Sydney Hilton, and he previously worked at the Hilton in his hometown of Switzerland.
