MEDIA RELEASE 19 October 2004
TCM and Lencrow join forces
The newly formed Lencrow Group, one of Australia’s largest materials
handling companies, has signed a new distribution deal with TCM forklifts.
Under the deal, Lencrow will distribute TCM forklifts throughout the eastern
seaboard of Australia. TCM, whose biggest shareholder is Hitachi Construction
Machinery, is a major global player in the materials handling industry.
Ross Grassick, General Manager of Lencrow Group, said that the new deal is a
major step forward for both companies.
“The deal with TCM means that for the first time Lencrow will be distributing a
common brand in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. There is also a significant
potential to boost TCM’s presence in NSW,” said Grassick.
Bronte Mincham, General Manager of NTP Forklifts Australia, who import the TCM
and Manitou product into Australia, says the two companies are a natural fit.
“It is very important that TCM products are backed up by an efficient
distributor in Australia that can meet the demands of the local market and
provide the backup service that customers require.
“We are very excited about what the future holds for our two brands and we
believe that TCM forklifts will become a major force in the Australian market,
in the same way that they are around the world,” said Mincham.
The former companies that now operate under the new Lencrow Group name include
Nomad Lift Trucks, Pacific Rentals, Allforks Hire, Pro-fork Materials Handling,
Hilift Tailgates and Hilift Materials Handling.
Lencrow currently has 1700 vehicles and units in their national hire fleet, and
sells hundreds of tailgates and forklifts annually. There are 24 mobile service
centres and 35 agencies currently in operation.
