New environmentally-friendly Rheem Heat Pump hot water
Rheem’s new Heat Pump water heater literally runs on air. Utilising similar technology to a reverse cycle air-conditioner, heat from the atmosphere is transferred into the water in the tank. Through the heating process, hot water is delivered back into the top of the tank, heating the tank from the top-down and providing usable hot water for immediate use.

It operates efficiently and uses only a third of the electricity of a conventional electric water heater, saving up to two-thirds on both the average hot water energy bill, and greenhouse gas emissions.

The new Rheem Heat Pump works best during the day because faster heating and more efficient electricity use is achieved when the surrounding air is warmer. It produces about the same amount of noise as a domestic air-conditioner and it can be fitted with a timer to prevent it operating at quiet times like late night and early morning.

The heat pump can also be used in cooler climates. With its unique freeze mode, at temperatures below 5°C, the water heater switches to electric booster element heating. This ensures plenty of hot water will be available regardless of the weather. In this mode, the unit will operate silently.

Installing the unit is as straightforward as installing a conventional hot water system and can be up and running in as little as two hours.

The Rheem heat pump has a five year warranty on the cylinder, three years on cylinder replacement labour, two years on the sealed system including labour and one year on parts including labour. This applies to single family domestic dwellings only.

The Rheem 551310 Heat Pump is available from most plumbing supply merchants. Call Rheem Australia on 132 552 for more information or visit www.rheem.com.au.
