‘Poetry in the Park’ - Get your creative juices flowing on Norfolk Island
From 20 to 27 February next year the beautiful surrounds of Norfolk Island will play host to a week-long festival of poetry readings, workshops and discussions led by Les Murray and Dorothy Porter, two of Australia’s best-known poets.

As well as leading readings of their work at selected scenic locations around Norfolk Island, including the Island’s beautiful National Parks, Les Murray and Dorothy Porter will be conducting poetry workshop sessions, discussing their works and reciting their poems.

Les Murray has won many awards including the prestigious TS Eliot Award and the Queens Gold Medal for Poetry, while Dorothy Porter’s works have been named Book of the Year for Poetry by The Age and the National Book Council.

The festival will also give attendees a chance to talk about their own poetry, mingle with local poets who trace their history to the Bounty Mutiny, and see the beautiful and inspiring sights of Norfolk Island.

Travel Centre holiday packages for ‘Poetry in the Park’ include return airfares and transfers, and 7 night’s twin share self-contained accommodation, 7 days car hire, plus mini golf and entry to “A Walk in the Wild” ecotourism attraction.
