Greywater system can ease Ballarat’s critical water shortage.
With Ballarat's critical water shortage creating Stage Three Water Restrictions, a grey water recycling system can reduce the pressure for water faced by local residents.

The new Australian-designed system, called Aqua Reviva, can exclusively treat household grey water without the need for intrusive excavation.

Aqua Reviva collects grey water from the bathroom and laundry and recycles it to health regulations standards so that it can be re-used in washing machines, toilets, as well as for use in the garden.

Andrew Pearce, CEO of New Water, the company behind the Aqua Reviva, said homeowners need to think seriously about how water recycling can make a real difference.

“We believe Aqua Reviva is the best and most environmentally friendly form of grey water treatment that can be installed in both new and existing homes,” he said.

“The system is completely safe as it is self contained, involves no maintenance or adjustment from the householder and should anything not work exactly as planned then it automatically diverts all water to sewer without any personal intervention,” he said.

“Grey water from the bathroom and laundry can be treated and recycled to health regulations standards so that it can be re-used safely.

“Treated water can be stored for an unlimited period of time, unlike diversion systems where the water must be used within 24 hours. The system generates water that is Class A standard and also removes other harmful nutrients.

“The beauty of the Aqua Reviva is that it can treat and recycle up to 700 liters of grey water a day and provide households with a continuous supply of recycled water,” Mr Pearce said.

New Water is a water specialist company that provides water management solutions throughout Australia.

The company also manufactures and markets a flexible rain water tank system called the Rain Reviva which can store up to 30,000 liters of water conveniently under the house or deck.

Information on both systems is available at www.newwater.com.au or call 1300 552 695 (1 300 NEW WATER).
