Workplace incentive with a twist
Taking your staff or customers on a corporate rally drive day as part of an incentive program may sound quite uncommon, but it is a motivational activity growing in demand.

Extreme Driving Rally Drive Day Centres manager James Stroud said companies are looking for different ways to reward their staff and create team bonding.

"It is not only a motivating experience, but also a great way for both management and staff to have a bit of fun together and feel on the same level-playing field for one day," Stroud explained.
Extreme Driving offers rally driving experiences around Australia including WRX thrills, hot laps, full-day and half-day rally experiences, snow rallying, corporate rally days as well as advanced driver courses.

Clients who have benefited from Extreme Driving's corporate rally days include Ford, KPMG, Lend Lease, TNT, James Hardie, British Airways and more.

Glen Sills, parts manager of Newcastle City Holden, booked a corporate rally day as part of his customer reward program last December when 22 of them visited the Extreme Driving Cessnock track.

"The team at Extreme Driving explained to us how the cars work. Then we drove a rally car with an instructor at our side giving us tips on how to improve car handling. We finished the day up with hot laps with the instructors. It was exhilarating and the customers loved it," Sills said.

"It was a great way to keep building good relationships with our customers. It was a good bonding exercise," he added.

Extreme Driving's hands-on approach ensures that participants receive not only the expected adrenaline rush, excitement and fun, but also a learning experience on how to best handle cars.

The company currently has six Rally Drive Day Centres around the country with plans to open at least an additional 20 Centres in the next two years.

The company's Rally Drive Day Centre located in Cessnock (NSW) also includes full conference facilities on site for up to 40 people, giving companies the opportunity to combine their offsite business event to a fun activity.

Extreme Driving was founded by rallying enthusiast Mark Haybittle. Haybittle first started Rallyschools International in the UK, where he was born, in 1989 and introduced Extreme Driving to WA in 1992. He then expanded the concept to most capital cities in Australia.
