World first cardio/strength combination home gym launched by Avanti Fitness
The new Avanti Fitness Cardio Gym - a world first in gym equipment - allows simultaneous cardio and strength exercises to be performed in one neat gym unit which folds away when not in use. It is an Australian designed product and is being sold overseas as well as in Australia exclusively by Workout World.

Australian Avanti Fitness Director Darren Piggins invented the Cardio Gym after seeing the huge benefits that could be gained by combining cardio and strength exercises at the same time.

"Many of our customers concentrate on either cardio or strength exercises. Fitness experts recommend a good balance of both types of exercise for better health and fitness," said Piggins.

"Most people don't have enough time to exercise so I came up with the idea of Cardio Gym to combine these two types of workouts simultaneously — saving time and breaking the monotony of the same old exercise routine.

"I also realised that most people don't have room for large gym equipment in their homes so we made the new Cardio Gym compact and easy to fold away when not in use. It folds away into a mobile cabinet which is no larger than a small wardrobe," he said.

The Cardio Gym includes a recumbent exercise bike and a smooth weights pulley system which can be used in a combined exercise program or individually.

Over 30 exercise combinations can be performed. The pulley system allows a large variety of exercises to be undertaken for the upper and lower body at the same time as using the recumbent bike. Exercises include chest press, back extensions, seated row, bicep curls and many others.

"No other single piece of gym equipment provides such an effective and efficient workout. Users can literally cut their exercise time in half and reach that all important fat burning zone for longer," said Piggins.

The Cardio Gym was a finalist in the BrandNew Awards at the world's largest fitness exhibition ISPO 2007 held in Germany.

Workout World is Australia's largest fitness retailer and is committed to helping people make healthy lifestyle choices. There are 32 Workout World retail outlets around Australia.
