BBX Expo to be held in Blacktown and raise funds for Day of Difference Foundation
Trade exchange company, BBX will be holding a Members' Expo on Tuesday, 2 December at Bowman Hall on Campbell Street, Blacktown. As well as showcasing the goods and services of BBX members, the night will raise awareness and funds for the Day of Difference Foundation.

The Expo commences at 6.30 pm and will showcase over 180 BBX members with some great pre-Christmas bargains. The night will also include a charity auction with items like a V8 Commodore, laptop computer, mountain bikes and more.

Day of Difference founder Ron Delezio will give a talk about the work the Foundation undertakes for children. Set up after his daughter Sophie was involved in a horrific accident at a Sydney day care centre, the Day of Difference Foundation is a children's charity that raises funds for hospital equipment and facilities and also supports children and their families on their journey from emergency to recovery.

BBX CEO, Michael Touma said the night will be a good opportunity to raise money for a good cause but also to learn more about the trade exchange network and how it can help small businesses increase revenue.

"It will be a big night. We have over 1,000 people coming along and it's always interesting to see the different stalls and network with different businesses," said Touma.

BBX is a membership based trading program whose primary role is to generate new opportunities for all types of businesses and to show business owners how to offset many current cash expenses by utilising the down time and idle inventory in their business.

The trade exchange uses BBX dollars, a currency unit having equivalent value to Australian currency, to assign value to the transactions that take place between member businesses. In essence, the exchange acts as the third party record keeper, similar to a bank, and provides a sophisticated market where thousands of transactions take place on a cashless basis.

BBX Holdings Limited listed on the ASX in August 2005, becoming the only exchange in the world to be publicly listed on a main board.

BBX has offices throughout Australia and operates in New Zealand through a master franchise. Through their BBX accounts, member businesses in these countries traded in excess of $192 million in the financial year ending 30 June 2008, averaging over $33,000 per member.
