PrivateFleet.com.au customers give weight to Drive awards
Australia's biggest online car buying service, PrivateFleet.com.au, finds Australian's agree with Drive's verdict that Mazda 2 and 3 are this year's best small cars.

Announced by Drive today, the Mazda3 Maxx hatch is the best car over $20,000 and the Mazda2 Neo 5-door is the best small car under $20,000.

Private Fleet director David Lye is not surprised by the results.

"From July to October this year, Mazda2 and Mazda3s made up 15 per cent of all our small car sales and small cars are about 40 per cent of our business. On average we sell about 400 new cars each month and this figure hasn't slowed over the past months.

"According to our figures, other popular small cars are the Toyota Corolla, Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen Golf and the Honda Civic. Surprisingly, diesel small cars continue to grow despite the higher price of diesel fuel and in most cases, a higher purchase price," said Lye.

"What this trend shows is that many Australians want more economical vehicles in terms of price and fuel economy. Mazda has had a long traditional of producing quality, well designed vehicles so their popularity is not a surprise," he added.

Private Fleet is affiliated with over 600 dealers across Australia and buys more cars than any other buying service in Australia, giving them significant buying power. On average, Private Fleet can save a customer up to 15 per cent off the dealer price.

Private Fleet also offers an after sales service for Private Fleet members with savings ranging from free roadside assistance, discounted at-home service, deals on windscreens, tyres and more.
