Fairfield resident helps locals save water while keeping their cars clean
Local Fairfield resident Chris Macri is helping time poor and environmentally conscious residents in the South West keep their cars clean without using water.

Australians love their cars, but currently car owners face a hefty fine for all breaches of Level 3 restrictions which severely limit the method and number of times that cars can be washed. The traditional hose method of washing a car uses 220 litres of water per wash, and owners are now considering better ways to clean their car.*

Six months ago Macri joined waterless car washing company Ecowash Mobile as Mobile Service Manager and has since Ecowashed more than 600 vehicles, which equates to a saving of at least 132,000 litres of water normally used in traditional car washing.

“Ecowash Mobile appealed to me because I wanted to work on my own and was interested in the environmentally friendly appeal of what the company had to offer,” said Macri.

“I think it has been so popular because people are concerned about the water restrictions and are willing to try more eco friendly options.

“People also like the convenience of the service. An Ecowash can be done anywhere, at people’s homes, work or even the park,” he said.

Local resident and business owner Dominic Cirillo regularly uses Ecowash Mobile to detail his Alpha Romeo and said that the quality of the waterless wash, as well as the reliability of the service, has made keeping his car clean convenient as well as environmentally friendly.

“I was attracted to Ecowash Mobile because it was waterless and convenient. I just call Chris up when I need my car cleaned and he comes wherever I am. It is reliable and convenient.

“The first time my car was cleaned by Ecowash Mobile, it came out great and I have used it once a fortnight since.

“The waterless wash comes up better than when the car was being washed with water.

“When it rains, the water just slides off and my car is left with a nice shine,” Cirillo said.

The completely waterless mobile car washing and detailing service uses an innovative technique to provide a 2-in-1 wash and polish. As well as not using water, the cleaning products used are also biodegradable.

The exclusive product range includes a polymer compound. The compound is sprayed onto the car exterior and encapsulates surface dirt and provides a lubricant, better than water, to remove dirt with a soft cloth. The polish leaves a protective coating to guard against the elements and harmful effects of wear and tear. The complete wash and polish is guaranteed not to scratch.

A complete range of products enables a full detail inside and out including leather treatment, bumper renovation and scratch removal. A variety of services are on offer, from a basic waterless wash and polish right through to a full detail called an Extreme Ecowash, to suit individual car owners, through to car dealers, smash repairers and corporate fleets.

The company has been chosen to detail a variety of car makes including Lamborghini, Hyundai and Mercedes-Benz.
