The Sebel Surry Hills

The Sebel Surry Hills, formerly known as the Citigate Sebel Sydney, completed a massive $20 million refurbishment to become a 4.5-star hotel. The hotel under Mirvac Hotel group management and owned by Dr Jerry Schwartz is one of eight hotels in his portfolio.

Campaign aims
DRPR worked with the Sebel Surry Hills from March to June 2009 to successfully relaunch the refurbished hotel.

The PR program included assisting with the organisation of the official launch by inviting the media, organising interviews and preparing the media kit.

What we achieved

Media Relationships
Throughout the project, DRPR developed relationships with key travel and leisure journalists as well as regional NSW media to effectively raise awareness of the re-branded hotel. DRPR coordinated numerous giveaways and interviews.

Media coverage
As a result, the Sebel Surry Hills gained media coverage in a wide range of publications throughout Australia and the hotel's bookings increased.
